SC Firearm Pro provides training for the South Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit. This class offers more than an overview of laws and qualification for the SC CWP permit; it provides instruction to handgun handling, fundamentals and most importantly HANDGUN SAFETY.
Calendar of Classes

The instructors of SC Firearm Pro bring over 17 years of experience to the class from law enforcement and military service. From this experience, students will learn first and foremost the safe handling procedures for firearms. From there instruction will be given concerning the laws governing concealed carry in the state of South Carolina.
Safety instruction includes discussion of proper storage and maintennance of firearms, proper cleaning supplies and cleaning procedures, identification of parts on revolvers, single action, double-action, full double-action of semi-automatic pistols, safe loading and unloading procedures and finally, the firing of the handguns. When necessary, extra time will be spent to ensure students are familiar with their personal firearm before qualification takes place.
Shooting fundamentals are covered beginning with grip and shooting stance. An eye dominance exercise demonstrated in class will determine student's dominant eye which leads to proper stance education. Sight alignment, sight picture, trigger control, breath control, and follow through will all be discussed and covered in detail with demonstration.
Laws covered include explanations of the Castle Doctrine, the Alter Ego Rule, the Use of Deadly Force, and includes coverage of areas and states permitting concealed carry, and many more.
To conclude the class portion of instruction, a state required examination will take place to confirm competency. Student must score a minimum of 75% to pass the written test.
After a break for lunch, a 50 round qualification course will confirm proficiency. The qualification will consist of several sequences of fire from various yardages up to 15 yards. Student must score a minimum of 70% to pass the qualification portion of the class.
Students will be fingerprinted and given all necessary paperwork in order to apply for the CWP. In addition, the students will receive an application for an out-of-state New Hampshire CWP (this adds more states in which SC CWP holders can carry).
